Nintendo revealed more information about the Fire Emblem Echoes downloadable content (dlc) in the form of a trailer. The whole season pass is $44.99 even though the game itself is $39.99. It sounds a little silly to have the dlc cost more than the game but it’s actually less than all of Fire Emblem Awakenings dlc which is $53 total. All of Fire Emblem Fates dlc is $26, with Revelations it’s $46. Fire Emblem Echoes dlc season pass is actually standard pricing to the franchise. Let me first say I love the Fire Emblem franchise. I’ve bought all the dlc in Fire Emblem Awakening and Fates. I don’t regret it, but after seeing the official trailer, I have to put my foot down on some things I’m not happy about.

The Fledgling Warriors Pack ($7.99) includes:
The Astral Temple – Reward: Items / Weapons
Band of Bandages – Reward: Experience
Wretches and Riches – Reward: Gold
Having an easy method to farm for weapons, gold, and experience makes this dlc pack the best choice to purchase at minimal, or so I thought.
The Undaunted Heroes Pack ($9.99) includes:
Wealth Before Health – Reward: Gold
Inner Sanctum – Reward: Items / Weapons
Lords of the Grave – Reward:Experience
This offers the same rewards as the Fledgling Warriors Pack but with harder enemies. This is strange having more than one map offering weapons, experience, and gold because Fire Emblem Awakening and Fates only had one map for each reward; never duplicates. So I must say, I’m not happy about the first two packs being the same but I can only assume because of this harder difficulty, the Undaunted Heroes Pack would offer better weapons, gold, and experience so this might be the better choice over the Fledgling Warriors Pack.
Lost Altars Pack ($14.99) includes:
Altar of the Destrier – Reward: Exclusive Class
Altar of the Titan – Reward: Exclusive Class
Altar of the Skylord – Reward: Exclusive Class
Alter of the Sorceress – Reward: Exclusive Class
Altar of the Faerie – Reward: Exclusive Class
Altar of the Ogre – Reward: Exclusive Class
Altar of the Marksman – Reward: Exclusive Class
Altar of the Savant – Reward: Exclusive Class
Altar of the King – Reward: Exclusive Class
Altar of the Queen – Reward: Exclusive Class
This pack contains ten special classes which is a lot more than what Fire Emblem Awakening and Fates had in their dlc. I don’t mind exclusive classes as dlc if the class itself doesn’t fit in the Fire Emblem Universe like the Bride class from Awakening and the Balistican from Fates. The Trailer shows three classes and one of them is a Spartan. I’m very curious about the rest.
Rise of the Deliverance Pack ($12.99) includes:
Battle of Zofia Harbor – Reward: Support Conversation
Outpost Rescue – Reward: Support Conversation
Flight from the Ruinse – Reward: Support Conversation
Siege of Zofia Castlee – Reward: Support Conversation
This pack tells the story before the start of Alm’s journey. As a reward, you get special support conversatons.
The 5th pack isn’t revealed yet. I just hope it isn’t more maps to farm weapons, gold, and experience.
Overall, most of this dlc isn’t necessary to purchase. Understandably, many people don’t like the idea of purchasing additional content on top of already buying the game. You don’t have to buy this. It is completely up to you.
Fire Emblem Echoes is available May 19th.
